A good weekend for walking

The August Bank Holiday weekend has not been great for beach-goers but has been great for walkers - not too hot hot, not too cold but with generally very good visibility.

I paid a visit to Lyme Regis and the Candles On The Cobb event on Sunday evening. This was a very different event, raising money for the local youth services as well as the Devon, and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance charities. The funds were raised by people sponsoring one of the 5,000 candles lit around the Cobb at 20:00 and the event was expected to attract about 20,000 visitors. It cetainly was quite busy.

I had some excellent fish and chips plus a very good pint of Otter Ale at the Nag's Head in Silver Street while I was there.

Good walking!
