August - a great month for walking

After the very wet July, August proved to be an excellent walking month.

If you want a fairly easy walk but with great views of Poole Harbour and the coast, park in the quarry car park just before Kimmeridge, turn right as you leave the car park then right again and go up onto the Ridgeway to Swyre Head.

Here, turn right over the stile, drop down to the coast and turn right along to the site of the new, under-construction Clavell's Tower (being moved back from the cliff edge).

Go down to the grassy car park and to the far right corner. Proceed along the tarmac road for a short while and take the right turn up into Kimmeridge village, up past the church and back to the car park.

This is about 5 miles.
