Not much of a weekend for walking!

Saturday proved to be worse than the forecast predicted by getting worse rather than better!

Sunday was a complete washout on a very wet and cold day. Even the most enthusiatic would have been put off.

However, if you are on a break or just out for the day, there are several indoor activities to keep you amused along the Dorset and Devon coast such as the Poole, Weymouth, Dorchester and Bridport Museums, the Charmouth and Dorchester Jurassic exhibitions plus a walk through the Weymouth history at the old Brewery.

A late October guided walk around Corfe Castle

At the end of last month, I did another guided country walk for the 'Singles That Mingle' organisation - http://www.singlesthatmingle.co.uk/. 14 of us started in Corfe Castle and walked along the valley, up through the quaint old village of Church Knowle and up onto the Ridgeway where, because of the excellent weather (again!), we had great views over Poole Harbour and along the coast.

We dropped back down into Corfe past the old Church Knowle Mill and had an excllent lunch and refreshment at the Corfe Castle Model Village and Cafe - http://www.corfecastlemodelvillage.co.uk/. This is well worth a visit and the service is excellent.
