Hot and wet Upwey

Following very heavy rain over the previous 2 weeks and some road flooding still in the area, we turned up at The Riverhouse Inn in Upwey for the walk in bright sunny conditions.

Upwey is a lovely village, now missing all that heavy traffic due to the Weymouth to Dorchester Relief Road and well worth a visit.

The walk was excellent with great views over the Dorset Countryside and over Weymouth and Portland.

The nettles and brambles were growing rapidly due to the perfect growing weather so a few had to be cleared as we progressed and we did have some water underfoot as we returned along the valley bottom.

This was followed by an excellent lunch at The Riverhouse Inn.
