A muudy, but fun walk around Worth Matravers

With different weather forecasts depending on where you looked, we were unsure what to expect!

It was misty but not too wet as we set off but it cleared quite nicely as we got to Chapman's Pool. The sun even threatened but didn't quite make it.

The paths were inevitably muddy and some interesting situations were encountered on the non-step downhill section between Chapman's Poole and St Alban's Head.

However, it was enjoyed by all and a very nice lunch was had at the New Inn in Church Knowle afterwards.

2010 dates to be issued soon on www.jurassicjaunts.co.uk

Happy New Year!

Corfe Castle and Nine Barrow Down

A cool, but generally clear day. Walking from the Challow car park, near Corfe Castle up onto Rollington, Brenscombe, Ailwood then NIne Barrow Downs.

Great views over Poole Harbour, the sun shining on the Needles on the Isle of Wight and down the valley to Swanage.

We then turned back along the lower path which fortunately was not too muddy, through Little Woolgarston and acroos the heath back to Corfe village. The Santa Specials were running so plenty of views of the Swanage Steam Railway as we walked.

As normal, an excellent cream tea or large slices of cake at the Model Village cafe.

There is a walk on Wednesday 30th December, 10:30 start from Worth Matravers and going to Chapman's Pool, St Alban's Head and Winspit. There is no charge for this walk and for more information please e-mail or call 07790 474 478.

Have a great Christmas.
